5 Sins of Beauty to be AVOIDED!

Hello Girlies!

There are certain things we do knowingly or unknowingly, that causes a lot of damage.

1. Squeezing A Pimple

Pimples are a collection of dead white cells and are therefore full of bacterial and oil. When you squeeze these pimples, you are exposing the bacteria to the rest of your face. When you squeeze more than one you move germs all over the place. Our fingers and nails are the most unhygienic parts of our body, they carry so many bacteria that could be transferred to our skin.

The skin on the face is very delicate, so when you pop a pimple with your nails, the damage is done. Firstly it would end up with a ugly stubborn mark that is difficult to remove, also the bacteria could spread on the face causing more irritation.

You can use medicated solutions like salicylic acid on your pimple can make it calm down without leaving behind a scar. If you want to pop a pimple, go to a dermatologist and get it done in a professional way.

2. Using Harsh Exfoliators:

Exfoliation plays a huge role in helping rid the skin of dead cells on the surface. But again over exfoliating the skin can strip off the moisture from your skin making it Dehydrated.

Exfoliators come in 2 forms: Scrubs and Liquids. Many people love scrub, because they are under the impression that scrub does its work better. Harsh can cause damage to the skin, and people with acne-porne skin should stay away because scrubs can spread bacteria and cause further irritation.

Replace your regular scrub with a liquid exfoliator. Their active ingredients are commonly fruit acids or AHA's (Alpha Hydroxy Acids). They gently lift the dead cells without causing abrasions to the skin.

You should "NEVER" exfoliate your skin more than twice a week.

3. Over-Washing the hair

Have you ever realized the more often you wash your hair, your hair looks unhealthy? That is because over-washing you hair can only strip of the natural oil and moisture from your hair and make it look dry and unhealthy.

An old belief of washing-rinsing-repeating is some thing you need to put a full stop. Over-washing your hair isn't necessary to  remove build up of oil and can cause excessive drying. Using a little baking soda along with the shampoo can help you get rid of the build up and there is no need to repeat. You can condition your hair and you are good to go!

4. Not Using an SPF:

not using spf

You know this is the biggest SIN!!! I personally never realized how important it is to use an SPF until my dermatologist said half my skin damage is because of exposure to sun light! Ever Since I have been using SPF.

Most of us are just lazy to use a SPF. By doing that we are just underestimating the power of sun in skin damage. The main factor that causes premature skin aging is SUN!! Sun increases free radical activity, which causes collagen fibers to break down and the melanin in your skin cells to increase, which is what creates pigmentation in your skin.

Solution is simple use a SPF every time you step out of house and also when you are indoors. I might sound insane but the fact is sun rays enter our home too. Right? And do not forget to carry a cute umbrella.

5. Not Removing Makeup Before Bed:

It's called 'beauty sleep' for a reason. Its at night when our skin regenerates and achieves maximum benefits from freshly cleaned and moisturised skin. Every day, your skin builds up a layer with pollution and makeup. And by not removing this can only cause damage as skin cannot breathe!

Do you know leaving makeup on and sleeping could just make you break out more?

No matter how tired you are or how late is it, its absolutely necessary to remove even the last traces of eye makeup before you sleep. Never compromise on the quality of the products that you use on your face.
