Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet Foundation: Review

When Chanel launched a new foundation, I was intrigued to give it a try. I always wanted to try Vitalumiere Aqua but somehow never got a chance to try it. So i did not want to let go off this and went ahead and bought it. I have no regrets.

Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet Foundation comes in 30ml size and is priced at Rs. 3000. The packaging of this is very practical and sturdy. Its an all black plastic bottle with a squeeze top.

The texture of the foundation is quite runny. Its a liquid foundation which transforms into powder finish the moment it gets in contact with the skin. Its super lightweight and glides on effortlessly on my skin. The foundation gives a medium coverage that can be layered to give almost full coverage. The foundation does not emphasize on the pores, so that is a big plus for me. Very true to the name, the foundation is matte finish with luminous finish. This is not the flat matte foundation that looks dull, it somehow adds a glow to the face and feels so smooth and velvet like. This foundation has the most light-weight feel, and looks so natural while providing a very good coverage. I am reaching to this one every single day because it feels so good to slap this on my face on hot-humid weather.

The staying power was something I was absolutely impressed with. This lasts for straight 7-8 hours without oxidizing or making my face greasy without using a primer underneath. Since has a runny consistency, I prefer using my fingers to apply the foundation. Using a brush you get a better coverage though but i some how feel the brush soaks a lot of product.

The Shade Selection is not too great, there are about 6 or 8 shades. The shade I picked is 60 Beige which is 2 shades darker than my skin tone but its okay for summer but I will definitely pick other shade soon enough because I am hooked on to the formula.

This foundation is perfect for girls who have oily skin type. Dry skin girls need to moisturize the face well before applying the foundation. The foundation did not break me out at all and suits my acne prone skin perfectly fine.

I will definitely recommend this foundation. And I am rating this 4.75/5 (minus 0.25 for shade selection)
